Downtown Dazzle @ Jacksonville Children's Chorus

The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus (JCC) is proud to present its third annual downtown holiday celebration by illuminating the outside of its downtown office, located at 225 East Duval Street, with festive lights synchronized to recorded songs of the season performed by JCC. Holiday, Christmas and Hanukkah songs will be broadcast on 94.5 FM radio for onlookers to enjoy.

Downtown Dazzle begins Friday, November 24, 2017 and continues through New Year’s Eve. Each night, 12-minute presentations will begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 9:30 p.m. The synchronized lights designed by Darren Hufty, who along with Miller Electric, bring the building and the downtown block to life. The sponsor for the event is Elena Flats, LLC.

These gates are sponsored by various churches like SUMC, San Jose Church of Christ, CFC, All Souls, Holy Family & church of 11 22, schools (Episcopal, Stanton, Paxon and UF) and ministry teams that prepare by prayer and asking for donations for their gate. This year marks the tenth year of the Humble Harvest giving event and our prayer is the harvesters are dearly blessed this Christmas season by the outpouring of Christ’s love and gifts for His church ! In conjunction with First Wednesday Art Walk, residents and visitors are invited to join Mayor and Mrs. Lenny Curry for Holiday at St. James on Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 4-7 p.m. The event will take place in Hemming Park as well as City Hall at St. James.

This free event will feature holiday activities, entertainment and more inside City Hall. In addition, Mrs. Curry will read a holiday book to families at 6:15 p.m. in the City Hall Atrium which will be followed by the lighting of the St. James Holiday Tree by the Curry family at 7 p.m. in Hemming Park.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the Mayor’s office as well as City Council for refreshments and a tour of the executive office.
