LSS will be screening the film Peace by Chocolate at the University of North Florida in September.
It’s a very sweet and moving family-friendly film about a refugee family from Syria that resettles in Canada.
This event will be free and open to the public. We want to raise awareness of refugees and the meaningful contributions they make in our community, and encourage our fellow Jacksonvillians to join us in welcoming refugees and immigrants.
The film’s writer/director and star will join us for a Q&A and sponsor reception following the screening. Proceeds will benefit our refugee resettlement efforts, as well as the LSS programs.
