DESCRIPTION:Let’s all come together this September Art Walk Downtown at Southlight Gallery to witness the bold and powerful work of Hillary McCullough! \nInspired by provocative introspection\, she explores the body’s interaction with its surroundings. Encouraging viewers to reflect upon their own futility in existence and within the confines of human condition\, she searches for meaning in our short fleeting existences. \nMcCullough is a local photographer\, teacher\, and storyteller\, specializing in traditional and alternative darkroom practices. She received her BFA in photography at the University of North Florida and earned her MFA at the University of South Florida in Studio Art with a focus in Photography. Currently\, Hillary is an Instructor at Jacksonville University in the Photo Department after her experience as a graduate student from 2015 to 2017 in teaching and as the photo lab tech at USF.

He worked in and around Boston\, including at WGBH-TV\, in publishing\, printing\, and advertising. In 1973\, Porter moved to Florida\, where he began teaching in the Graphic Design and Photography programs at the University of North Florida.

DESCRIPTION:This summer Southlight Gallery will be showcasing artist\, David Porter and his collection of photographs from around the globe. Opening for July Art Walk the first Wednesday of the month! \nBorn just north of Boston\, David Porter earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design in 1964. He worked in and around Boston\, including at WGBH-TV\, in publishing\, printing\, and advertising. In 1973\, Porter moved to Florida\, where he began teaching in the Graphic Design and Photography programs at the University of North Florida. \nHis current collection of photographs were created through his love of travel across the globe\, including: the United States\, Mexico\, and a great deal of South America. He has also traveled within Europe and Asia\, most notably\, Bali Nepal in India\, a destination he enthusiastically recommends others to visit.
