DESCRIPTION:Jacksonville’s Pioneer Black-Led LGBTQIA+-Affirming Church Marks 17-Year Legacy of Sanctuary and Service \nJACKSONVILLE\, FL — Called Out Believers In Christ (COBIC) Fellowship Church announces its 17th Anniversary Celebration\, taking place November 13–15\, 2026\, at The Venue Jax. The milestone honors nearly two decades of transformative ministry\, local outreach\, and spiritual shelter in Northeast Florida. \nFounded out of a dire need to provide spiritual care for marginalized individuals serving at the Minority AIDS Coalition’s drop-in center\, COBIC Fellowship has built an enduring legacy. While earlier groundbreaking ministries like Christ Church of Peace established affirming worship in Jacksonville\, and Sovereign Ministries pioneered a focus on the Black LGBTQIA+ spiritual experience\, COBIC Fellowship holds the distinction of being Jacksonville’s oldest Black-led\, interracial\, LGBTQIA+-affirming church. \n“Seventeen years ago\, we set out to create a place where no one had to choose between their faith and their identity\,” said Senior Pastor and Co-Founder Deweyne J. Robinson\, Sr.. “Our journey began by offering spiritual refuge to those who felt spiritually homeless. Today\, we celebrate 17 years of moving hundreds toward excellence\, creating genuine community\, and serving as a safe haven in Jesus’ name.” \nBeyond weekly worship\, COBIC Fellowship’s legacy includes co-founding the Colors Resource Center and the Avenue of Rainbows initiative\, annual community food and clothing giveaways\, and ongoing advocacy for health and social equality throughout Jacksonville. \nThe three-day celebration features: \n1. Friday\, Nov 13 (6:30 PM): A formal “Black Tie Affair” Gala honoring community leaders making an impact across Jacksonville ($50 ticket). \n2. Saturday\, Nov 14 (6:30 PM): A Unity Concert featuring live gospel music\, dance\, and spoken word ($50 ticket). \n3.
