Civil War to Civil Rights

March 8 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Our all-volunteer, community orchestra is proud to present Civil War to Civil Rights a free concert open to all in Jacksonville, FL. This event is more than a musical journey—it is a space for reflection, dialogue, and community healing.

The program for the concert is:
– “Lincoln Portrait” by Aaron Copland
– “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by J. Rosamond Johnson and James Weldon Johnson
– “The Montgomery Variations” (selections) by Margaret Allison Bonds
– “Harlem Symphony” by James P. Johnson

The Jacksonville Civic Orchestra is honored to have singer Jay Ivey join in its upcoming concerts as the narrator for Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait.

Join us in creating a moment of healing and harmony for Jacksonville. Together, we can turn the lessons of history into a foundation for lasting community growth.
