David Porter Maps the Planet at Southlight Gallery
This summer Southlight Gallery will be showcasing artist, David Porter and his collection of photographs from around the globe. Opening for July Art Walk the first Wednesday of the month!
Born just north of Boston, David Porter earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design in 1964. He worked in and around Boston, including at WGBH-TV, in publishing, printing, and advertising. In 1973, Porter moved to Florida, where he began teaching in the Graphic Design and Photography programs at the University of North Florida.
His current collection of photographs were created through his love of travel across the globe, including: the United States, Mexico, and a great deal of South America. He has also traveled within Europe and Asia, most notably, Bali Nepal in India, a destination he enthusiastically recommends others to visit.
