Great Southeast Pollinator Census Palooza

The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is a multi-state citizen science project that was started by the University of Georgia in 2017. It has expanded to Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. Last year, over 27,000 individuals recorded over 500,000 insect landings. One of the goals is to generate useful data so researchers can look for trends and see how pollination populations are affected by weather and how honeybees influence native bee populations.
The Mandarin Garden Club at 2892 Loretto Road Jacksonville, FL 32223 will be hosting a census training at 9:30a along with bees, birds and butterfly sessions at 11a, 12p and 1p on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22 from 9a – 2p both days along with a plant sale, vendors and food trucks.
Open to the public and training sessions free. Parking at Mason’s parking lot next door.
