LSS Hosts Food Giveaway on Northside to Support Local Families

Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida (LSS) will give away free groceries on Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2730 Edgewood Ave. W., Jacksonville, FL 32209.

Any household in need is invited to attend. Participants are asked to register in advance at: https://sugeni.us/enHf

This food distribution is part of LSS’s Shared Roots initiative, which brings fresh food and pantry staples directly into neighborhoods experiencing high food insecurity. Shared Roots is made possible through the generous support of Baptist Health.

“Food insecurity doesn’t always look the way people expect it to,” said Laura Cook, LSS program director who oversees the mobile pantries. “Many of our neighbors are working hard but still struggling to keep groceries on the table. Shared Roots allows us to meet families where they are and provide not just food, but dignity, care, and connection.”
