The Avenues is inviting families from across Jacksonville to celebrate Earth Day with an educational event celebrating sustainability, recycling, and community.
On Saturday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., representatives from the USO of Jacksonville and the City of Jacksonville’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services will be onsite offering educational sessions for families teaching how to make Jacksonville greener. The first 100 shoppers to check in at the event can create their own air plant terrarium and decorate a flowerpot for free.
Additionally, The Avenues is encouraging shoppers to donate their gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories to Give Back Box this Earth Day. Shoppers can fill up any cardboard box with these items and print a free shipping label online. All donations will be given to local charities who will then distribute the items to Jacksonville-area families in need.
